Lockett is the latest professional athlete to turn wanna-be music entertainer overnight.

New England safety Bret Lockett isn’t a household name—makes sense being that he hasn’t played a lot of football for the Patriots lately—but like a lot of NFLers during the lockout, Lockett has pursued a second career aspiration…in Lockett’s case, that of rapper/entertainer. Here the former UCLA defensive back shows off his artist skills in his first music video entitled, “Let’s Go”…
Not a bad melody…actually considering what I’ve heard from some recent athletes/wanna-be MC’s—AARON MAYBIN!!!—this isn’t that bad despite the slightly juvenile lyrics.
It’s LL Cool J-I’ll Take You To Paradise-female fantasy stuff. It probably works…if you’re a female.
As far as Lockett’s NFL career, the 24-year old undrafted free agent has yet to really make an impact with the Patriots. You can just hear New England fans telling Lockett “let’s go” with that.
