Rob Ryan plans on showing Philly they aren’t the only NFC East team with top-quality free agents.

It doesn’t take much to stir up an old fashioned NFC East rivalry…yet new Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator ROB RYAN didn’t mind taking the first shot, saying the Cowboys will beat the Philadelphia Eagles ass this season!

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Ryan, who is the twin brother of loud mouth NY Jets head coach Rex Ryan, told reporters that the Cowboys free agent additions are just as good as that of the Eagles…even though they aren’t getting the press that the Eagles add ons are getting.

“These are proven players, and that’s what we need,” Ryan said of Cowboys newcomers Marcus Spears, Kenny Coleman and Jason Hatcher. “I don’t know if we win the all-hype team, I think that might have gone to somebody else, but we’re going to beat their ass when we play them.”

There’s no doubt of who Ryan meant by “them.”

With the signing of heralded free agent Pro Bowler Nnamdi Asomugha, the acquisition of fellow Pro Bowler Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie via trade, and the recent RB pick-up of Ronnie Brown from the Dolphins, the Eagles have—in some peoples minds—catapulted themselves into Super Bowl contenders overnight. Ryan obviously isn’t down with that hype.

What do you expect from a Ryan? It’s in their genes to talk madd ish. Old Robbie Boy is either very confident in his new players or he is literally player-hating on Philly. Either way, he just ratcheted up an already intense rivalry!

Dallas travels to Philadelphia October 30 for their first Cowboys-Eagles meeting of the season.

(In my Bart Scott voice,) can’t wait!
