Odom was practically non-existent in Dallas, averaging a career low 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 50 games.

In a move that comes as no surprise, the Dallas Mavericks have parted ways with frustrated forward LAMAR ODOM. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Monday that Odom, 32, and the Mavericks organization reached a mutual agreement to place the NBA Sixth Man of 2011 on the inactive list for the reminder of the season.

The move allows the Mavs to retain Odom’s rights as they will likely seek a trade for him after the season ends.

Odom should have remained with the Lakers, despite having to tolerate the snake in the Lakers front office, Mitch Bitch Kupchak. Dude had finally found a fit in L.A. with the Lakers and let the business of basketball get too personal. His trade to Dallas was impulsive and not well thought out.

Odom never found a niche with the Mavs and his personal distractions certainly didn’t help his game or his focus on the court.

Now Odom has plenty of time to whip up some new drama on his and wifey Khloe’s reality show. Smh.
