Showtime has come up with baseball’s answer to HBO’s “Hard Knocks” football program. The network will chronicle the 2012 Marlins this summer with a show entitled, “The Franchise: A Season With The Miami Marlins”. Peep this…

A special 30-minute preview episode will air Saturday, April 21 at 9 PM ET/PT on Showtime.

With a spanking new $515 million stadium, high expectations and talent up and down the roster (including superstar shortstop JOSE REYES, top slugger HANLEY RAMIREZ, pitcher CARLOS ZAMBRANO and a controversial yet solid manager in OZZIE GUILLEN), the Marlins certainly won’t be lacking in the drama category this baseball season.

If ever there was a franchise in the major leagues to focus on this year, the Marlins are definitely it. (Sorry, Yanks.)

Ozzie Guillen’s comments about Fidel Castro certainly withstanding.
