A Hard 8: Smith calls himself hard but needs to get his ish together before he winds up doing hard time.

New York Knicks shot taker J.R. SMITH was arrested Thursday night in Miami on an outstanding warrant charge for not having a valid driver’s license, Miami-Dade County court records show.

Sgt. Bobby Hernandez spotted the 26-year old Smith on Washington Avenue in South Beach, recalling that the police department had an outstanding warrant on Smith from last Memorial Day weekend when J.R. was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. A bench warrant was issued when the Knicks star failed to show up for his court date last July.

Smith was booked and later released on bond.

Smith holding court with friends on South Beach. Dude can’t make his court date though.

So the cops had an eye out for J.R. They probably knew he’d be in Miami for the holiday weekend and sure enough, he was. You’d think dude would have learned his lesson when his license was suspended for two years for causing an accident that killed his friend in Jersey in 2009.

But then again, this is J.R. Smith we’re talking about. Smdh.
