The always enthusiastic Jose Reyes is the franchise player for the Marlins and the team’s catalyst on the field.

With an entirely new excitement in South Beach surrounding the now Miami Marlins, Showtime Networks is set to begin its second season by chronicling South Florida’s major league baseball team which boasts new players, a new stadium and a new coach in OZZIE GUILLEN, who is ready-made for reality TV drama. Peep the trailer…

Guillen christened the drama early in April by angering South Florida area Cubans with his favorable comments about Fidel Castro’s leadership in Cuba. Guillen received a 5-game suspension for his words.

Marlins management built a $515 million sun-belt ready palace for a team expected to contend immediately.

But despite all the Marlins enthusiasm this season, the team is under .500 (41-43) heading into the All-Star break, nine games behind the NL East division-leading Washington Nationals.

Losing does take a little something off the whole appeal thing. Just sayin’…

The Franchise premieres Wednesday, July 11 on Showtime.
