“I remember it. I remember everything. I remember jumping in the air and coming back down, and just that popping sound. I felt it actually tear when I laid all the way out and it just let go.”  —Derrick Rose

Rose described the hush that came over Chicago Stadium on April 27 when he went down in anguish at the end of his first game back from a leg injury against Philadelphia. A game that Chicago had already won. The 76ers would eventually defeat Chicago in the first round of the playoffs.

Throughout the spring and summer, Rose leaned on family, close friends and his strong belief in God to carry him through his ordeal. The injury he suffered threatened to end his basketball career.

But Rose’s will and determination to return to the game he loves drives him everyday. He plans on not just returning but making a highly successful comeback.

No doubt he carries the entire championship hopes and dreams of Bulls fans with him on his monumental journey back.
