In the aftermath of Wednesday’s bombshell arrest and first degree murder charge against ex-New England Patriots tight end AARON HERNANDEZ comes word that the former Florida star stockpiled guns due to a checkered past which includes a connection to gang members in his native Connecticut and a pending double homicide investigation in Boston that police believe Hernandez may have played a part in.
According to TMZ via sources close to the former Patriots star, Hernandez was in constant fear for his life because of his affiliation with gang members in Connecticut, of which he became a part as a teenager. He apparently loaded up on guns because he anticipated trouble when he tried to move away from the gangster lifestyle after the 23-year old signed a lucrative $40 million contract with New England in 2012.
And now comes news that investigators in Boston are looking into Hernandez as a possible suspect in a double murder that took place on July 16, 2012 in downtown Boston. Three people were shot waiting at a traffic stop in the incident, two fatally wounded.
Apparently thug life was really real for Aaron Hernandez. So real that he couldn’t escape his past despite the fortune and fame he attained later. That’s usually the case when one makes that kind of affiliation. You either ride or die.
Or in Hernandez’s case, face the likelihood of life in prison for first-degree murder if convicted. Smh.
