In a video promoting the release of NBA 2K14, MICHAEL JORDAN says he’s certain he could beat LEBRON JAMES as well as DWYANE WADE and CARMELO ANTHONY in a one-on-one match up while all in their prime. Yet MJ mentioned he has doubts about beating KOBE BRYANT in a similar scenario because “he steals all my moves.”
Kobe certainly incorporated quite a few of MJ’s moves into his own game. Upon hearing what Jordan said, Bryant tweeted this response:
True that. Each generation borrows a little something from the previous one.
As for LeBron, the Miami Heat superstar kind of shrugged off Jordan’s comments opting instead to promote the new XBox video game of which he is the cover attraction…
It seems LeBron is just happy to be in the conversation. Kobe expects to BE the conversation. In any event, we’ll never know what Jordan would have done against any of today’s top NBA superstars.
That’s the problem you have with trying to compare players from different eras. It’s like putting a cell phone in Abe Lincoln’s hands: That scenario is forever doused in pure fantasy.
