There’s an ‘I’ in Iman but certainly not in team. Shumpert felt the need to scale down just to ramp up for a title run.

If you happen to be wondering what prompted New York Knicks swingman IMAN SHUMPERT to cut off his trademark box cut hairdo, the third-year player offers up resourceful reasoning behind the move and why he views the leveling off of his hair as a new beginning in his quest to win an NBA championship in New York…

Clearly, the new look Knick felt that his individual accomplishments were clouding his focus on team success and needed to be scaled back. Going from skyscraper haircut back to ground floor level coif sort of symbolizes Shumpert’s move back to basics, to realign himself with his ultimate goal. I get it.

Last season’s disappointing playoff loss to Indiana really has Iman in a reflective mood. He certainly has come out blazing to start this season with an aggressive floor game and an effective jumper from deep.

I guess Shump is saying high hair is nice but there’s an even better high: Winning an NBA ‘chip.
