Late in the third quarter of Tuesday night’s Lakers-Pelicans tilt, L.A. rising star (and I do mean rising) XAVIER HENRY decided to pass on a perimeter toss to teammate JORDAN FARMAR choosing instead to venture into the paint. The result was total denotation and devastation of Pelicans rook JEFF WITHEY…
Henry—who is a lefty—took off, cocked the ball back and ignited the listless Staples Center crowd with a powerful slam dunk that had Withey in smithereens on the floor, earning the X-man our DeAndre Jordan Dunk Approval stamp.
This kid Henry is quickly becoming a Staples Center favorite. Xavier Henry just may be on the road to being among the next generation of Laker greats. I realize that’s a stretch at this point but the guy does have the potential.
And he certainly has the stretch.
