I don’t know if I agree with this but the NBA has suspended Memphis Grizzlies guard TONY ALLEN for one game after kicking point guard CHRIS PAUL in the face during Monday night’s Grizzlies-Clippers contest…

Allen was ejected from the game for committing what the refs viewed was a Flagrant 2 foul. After the game (which surprisingly the Grizzlies won, 106-102 without him), Allen tweeted his apologies to CP3…

I think the NBA has overreacted on this. Yes, it was flagrant and yes it was an unprecedented play. But was it intentional? I think not. Allen seemed to be anticipating a Chris Paul pass and lifted his leg to block it. Just so happens the pass never came. Just CP3′s grille. Now Allen is suspended for a game on top of the ejection.

The league office needs to lighten up a little. Geesh.
