Iman’s energy and effort hasn’t been the same since trade rumors began swirling. He may be mentally affected.

The Knicks are mired in a six-game losing streak with prospects growing dire by the minute. After Monday night’s 102-91 defeat at the hands of the Blazers in Portland, IMAN SHUMPERT spoke about his team’s issues with ball movement while deflecting questions about his own individual performance…

Ball movement, lack of a defensive presence and an absence of any kind of offensive cohesion are all legitimate reasons why the Knicks have been a major disappointment this season. But Shumpert has always been considered the spark plug for this club—especially on defense—yet No. 21 has been unmistakably absent on the court this season.

I personally believe Iman isn’t dealing with those trade rumors very well. Perhaps talk of being shipped elsewhere has dampened his spirit somewhat. And the more the Knicks struggle, the more real those rumors become.

Next up for the Knicks are the Clippers in L.A. Wednesday. Not exactly the type of team you’d want to face when trying to end a slump.
