It may take Saunders and America some getting used to, but Winston is an original. That’s what makes him special.

It goes without saying that this has been quite a momentous year for Florida State first-year QB JAMEIS WINSTON. From an early season sexual abuse scandal (which he was cleared of any wrongdoing) to Heisman Trophy winner to BCS national champion—on his 20th birthday, no doubt—with Monday night’s thrilling come-from-behind Rose Bowl win over Auburn. After Florida State’s 34-31 victory, exponentially Famous Jameis expressed his thoughts on the occasion as only he can…

Obviously caught up in the moment of winning a national championship and sounding like a young Ray Lewis grooming for the pulpit, Winston talked team effort, overcoming adversity and laying it all at the foot of the Lord. Oh…and extra credit went out to the haters…

Yet how Jameis speaks seems to be the elephant in the room with some folks in the sports world. But rather than focusing on Winston’s backwoods twang, peeps should pay more attention to what he is saying. The incredible poise of this young man and his supremely positive outlook on life belies his twenty years of existence. LeBron James, who likely sees so much of himself in Jameis as once a young prodigy himself, certainly thinks so…

In a tweet that shows just how firmly entrenched in who he is as a person, Winston had one final response for those who may be cynical of his linguistics…

But perhaps actor-comedian Terry Crews put it best in describing Jameis Winston after getting an opportunity to hang out with him before Monday’s BCS national championship:

Those who know and love Jameis Winston must echo those very same thoughts.
