Stung & Cheek: Smith reacts to fracture sustained during game with OKC Sunday. He will avoid missing any time.

Looks like J.R. SMITH is about to go from random shoestring bandit to the masked marauder. The Knicks supersub sustained a small fracture of his left cheekbone against the Thunder Sunday and will be fitted for a protective mask for the Knicks next game Wednesday vs. Sacramento.

Smith suffered the injury after his face collided with Kevin Durant’s knee on this shot attempt…

It will be quite interesting to see J.R. looking like a masked bandit out on the court. After thriving in the role of NBA villain for all these years, Smith will now visually look the part…at least until his cheekbone heals.
